About Just Grow
Just Grow helps gardeners learn seasonal planting by location. Enter a ZIP → city, county, state + USDA hardiness zone → curated calendars for edibles and common flowers. Coverage spans the Southeast plus Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West Coast / Mountain tracks. No accounts, comments, or store.
What this site is (and isn’t)
- Is: a static calendar UI with curated JSON aligned to public Extension and USDA guides.
- Isn’t: live scraped data, personalized agronomic advice, or a substitute for your county Extension office.
- Timings vary by microclimate, cultivar, and year — always cross-check locally before planting.
Region tracks
Each ZIP maps to a calendar region key. Florida keeps UF/IFAS North / Central / South
(north-fl / central-fl / south-fl).
Southeast neighbors keep Extension-style subregions; Mid-Atlantic through West Coast states
use climate splits such as va-piedmont, ny-upstate,
tx-north/tx-south/tx-east/tx-west,
and ca-north/ca-central/ca-south.
Sources
Plant calendars and ZIP → zone mappings cite the public publications below. Non-Florida month arrays are guide-aligned with honest approximate / offset windows when full month tables are thinner. Tropicals and some arid or cool-climate specialists intentionally use empty calendars outside suitable tracks.

Early fall stays mostly green on Florida-tuned week defaults; late fall accents warm up. Region labels cover SE through West Coast tracks.
